Notes: These tire sizes are for 15 x7 or 15 x8
wheels with 3.5" backspace. These are a general guide line because a
wider tire or offset rim can cause interference with the sheet metal. A large
lugged mud tire will also require more clearance or a shorter overall height
in order to clear compared to an All-Terrain tread style. Tire size can vary
depending on wheel offset, wheel width and tire tread design. Keep in mind
that installing taller tires may require a ring and pinion gear change or
the addition of performance add-ons for the engine or both modifications.
On models up to 1989 we highly recommend upgrading to stronger later model
axles when more horsepower and bigger tires are combined. Larger tires will
also affect the ratio that the speedometer reads and thereby may show a slower
speed than actual speed.
2wd
Suspension Systems
Make your 2wd excel off road while providing clearance for larger tires with
the addition of our 2wd suspension systems. Our new 2wd lifts are designed
for the person who doesn't need four wheel drive but does want larger tires,
more suspension travel and better handling. These new 2wd systems offer the
same great performance as our time tested 4 wheel drive kits but designed
just for the 2wd. Each stage comes with every part needed to do a complete
install, including shocks. Standard cabs get 3" of lift, Supercabs get
2.5"
Stage
1-Base System
This is for the owner that wants clearance for larger tires and is on a
budget. Provides improved handling and control over stock as well as providing
a more level stance. Kit can be easily upgraded to Stage 2 or 3 later.
·Progressive rate coil springs
·Four 70/30 Shocks for stock mounts
·Radius arm drop brackets
·I-beam pivot drop brackets
·Add-a-leaf
#5042 Stage 1 Suspension, 82-97 Ranger 2wd $699.00
Stage 2-Add Front Dual Shock Coil Buckets & Radius
Arms
This system is for the more performance oriented customer. Longer shocks
on the front end equal better handling, performance and travel (see Why
a dual shock kit?). We have also included in this system our well tested
long travel tubular radius arms. They provide more travel and control while
instilling a more responsive smoother feel to the suspension. This system
works great whether running back country logging roads or taking on the
high speed desert washes of the Southwest.
·Stage 1
·Front Dual Shock Coil Buckets
·Longer shocks and an additional shock per side, (4 front, 2 rear)
·Long Link Radius Arms replace drop brackets from Stage 1
#5043 Stage 2 Suspension, 82-97 Ranger 2wd $1349.50
Stage
3-Add New Leaf Springs
For those who want new springs and a suspension that will excel over the
other guys, this is it. That's right! Get rid of the old tired leafs and
install our new higher arch, progressive rate leaf springs. Our new leafs
will provide more rear suspension travel and an even better ride than our
already smooth riding Stage 2 system. This system works great on nearly
every terrain; whether driving to work or the far reaches of the back country
this will get you there and back in comfort and style.
·Stage 1
·Stage 2
·Leaf Springs, lifted
#5044 Stage 3 Suspension, 82-97 Ranger 2wd $1799.95
